HOW IT IS MADE

Prosciutto Crudo di Parma is made from a wild boar’s ham (hind leg or thigh) of first quality Italian pigs. Additives and conservatives are prohibited. Master salters are extremely important as well as the unique weather of our hills that grant a unique flavour during the aging. The production practice ends up with the fire branding by the Consorzio del Prosciutto Crudo di Parma, safeguarding the consumer for the final quality of the product.

FEATURES

Prosciutto Crudo di Parma connects the typical sweet taste with important nutritional values. Characterised by low fat, mineral salts, vitamins and proteins that make it a great meal for children, sportsmen and elderly people. In addition, it contains B Vitamin and mineral salts that can be digested easily by our body as well as the iron. Prosciutto Crudo is also good to prevent the action of the free radicals and to restore the physiological balance of the body.

HOW TO TASTE

To taste it correctly, you should cut paper-thin slices and serve them at room temperature. It is delicious for the happy hour with a glass of white wine (like Malvasia or Prosecco) or accompanied by watermelon as the traditional parmesan cooking. It is great also in a sandwich, on the pizza or as a meat course. Prosciutto Crudo is good for low-fat diets.

STORAGE

You can store Prosciutto Crudo before cutting even for several months in a cool area (like in the cellar). Once sliced, Prosciutto Crudo has to be stored in the fridge within a canvas and the sliced part has to be wrapped in a plastic wrap or aluminium foil.
