FARM

The farm Rossi Tranquillo is located in Torricella (PR) in the fertile Po valley where there is the main production of Parmigiano-Reggiano.

 Highly motivated by our great passion and thanks to the  modern mechanization, we produce directly the feed for the  beeves living in the stables.

 The company covers around 40 hectares of land: besides  the feed, also wheat and sweet corn are grown to grant an  appropriate crop rotation of  the land.

 Our clayish land is definitely appropriate for the production  of high-protein feed (healing herb). This gives to the milk  produced very high  nutritive properties and a unique  flavour.

 In our stables we breed cows of several breedings: Frisona italiana (Italian Friesian), Pezzata  Rossa italiana (Italian Red Pied) and Bruna italiana (Italian Brown) allow us to produce an  excellent quality milk.

All the animals present in the stables are managed through a open housing system: this gives high level of well-being to the animals and it is important for milk productivity.

  The milking of the cows, as the tradition of Parmigiano-Reggiano, is carried out twice a day and in     particular, early in the morning and during the evening.

  In the stables there are around 80 lactating animals that can produce in one year more than   730.000 litres of milk that is entirely intended for the production of Parmigiano-Reggiano.
